Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Yakimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiro Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Murakami!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murakami throws a right and a left that Yakimoto avoids nicely.

Yakimoto feints and as Murakami raises his hands in defense, Yakimoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Yakimoto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Murakami throws a series of punches but Yakimoto avoids them all with ease.

and Yakimoto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Murakami's guard.

Yakimoto wants to control from the top but Murakami keeps moving.

A close round but Akihiro Murakami will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Yakimoto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murakami sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Yakimoto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murakami as he avoids it easily.
Yakimoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murakami tries to avoid it but Yakimoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murakami to the ground. Murakami escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Murakami is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yakimoto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Murakami.

Murakami drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yakimoto manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Murakami has Yakimoto in his guard.

Murakami bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yakimoto's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Murakami seems to be working for a kimura but Yakimoto defends the submission attempt.
Yakimoto is looking to escape.
Akihiro Murakami has got the better of the ground game so far.
