And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 1 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoki Fujii!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujii gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fujii bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Powers's guard.
Fujii content to stall in guard here.
Fujii missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Powers keeping moving, preventing Fujii from controlling successfully.
Fujii slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Fujii has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Powers lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fujii!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Powers wants to pass the guard but Fujii is keeping the position.
Fujii is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Powers is aware though and is defending well.

Fujii sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Powers's guard.
Powers is refusing to be controlled, as Fujii sits in half guard.
Fujii seems to be working for a kimura but Powers defends the submission attempt.
Powers wants to get back to full guard.

Fujii is looking to stall here but Powers recovers full guard.
Fujii postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Powers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fujii, into his guard.

Fujii is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Powers has his hands clasped together but Fujii extends an breaks Powers's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Fujii.
