PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sub Rage!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Palmer sprawls well. Palmer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rage gets slowly back to his feet.
Palmer looks to land a combination. Rage sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Rage avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rage shoots in but Palmer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Palmer throws a good cross that connects.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rage closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Palmer did well to prevent Rage getting side control.
Palmer is staying active underneath Rage, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rage should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rage is working for a kimura but Palmer is defending it quite comfortably.

Rage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Palmer is just riding it out for now. Rage eventually gives up the hold.
Rage is pressing down on Palmer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Palmer is holding on for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palmer is staying active underneath Rage, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Rage is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Palmer defends it well.
Rage is keen to just control but Palmer is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fighters circling - Palmer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rage has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Palmer finds it's way round the side to connect with Rage's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rage tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Palmer was well out of range. Poor timing from Rage.
Palmer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rage has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Palmer lands with an overhand left.
Roy Palmer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Palmer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rage moves away.
Palmer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rage.
Palmer misses the shot to the body.
Rage misses with a double jab
and Palmer counters with a nice uppercut.
Palmer is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Palmer counters with a stiff right hand.
Roy Palmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Rage.
Rage shoots and misses
and Palmer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rage tries for a takedown but Palmer circles away easily
and Palmer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Roy Palmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rage takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Palmer is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Rage with a poor takedown
and Palmer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roy Palmer dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rage misses with a body punch
and Palmer counters with a stiff right hand.


Rage is rocked!
Crack! Palmer connects with the perfect overhand right and Rage falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Palmer!
