Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noel Contemprato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slacks Houligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slacks Houligan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Houligan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Contemprato manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Houligan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Houligan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Houligan throws a strike but Contemprato rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Contemprato got a little sloppy there for a moment and Houligan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Contemprato has managed to get both his arms back between Houligan's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Contemprato tries to stand but Houligan is controlling from the bottom.

Houligan is working an open guard so Contemprato takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
No luck for Houligan with that takedown attempt.
Houligan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Contemprato throws a nice looking combination but Houligan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Contemprato uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Houligan has time to react.
Slacks Houligan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Houligan fails with the takedown.
Noel Contemprato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slacks Houligan.

Contemprato changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Houligan looks gassed!
Contemprato keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Contemprato sizes up Houligan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Contemprato connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Houligan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Contemprato to score with a decent uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Houligan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Contemprato connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Contemprato rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Houligan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Contemprato connects with a good right hand that stumbles Houligan. Houligan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A right-left combo lands from Contemprato.

Houligan is rocked!
