PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Buttowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buttowski comes into the arena with TNT blaring out of the sound system. John Lucas has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Buttowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buttowski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lucas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Lucas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Buttowski was covering up waiting for the punch and Lucas finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lucas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lucas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Buttowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lucas throwing strikes from guard but Buttowski blocks nicely.

Lucas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Buttowski, up you get!
Lucas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Buttowski swivels and escapes.
Lucas shoots in but no luck this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buttowski lands a glancing blow to the side of Lucas's head.
Buttowski thuds a left hand into Lucas's body.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown but Buttowski shows good takedown defense.
Ivan Buttowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Lucas.
Lucas looks gassed!
Lucas dodges the punch combination from Buttowski.
Lucas throws a sloppy head kick and Buttowski moves out of range easily.
Buttowski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lucas circles away quickly and effectively.
Lucas wants to clinch up but Buttowski keeps it at a distance.
Buttowski digs a good body shot into Lucas's ribs.
Lucas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buttowski is fending him off so far but Lucas persists. Nope, Buttowski circles away and we're back to standing.

Buttowski lands a left and a right that send Lucas crashing to the mat, dazed. Buttowski thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lucas is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Buttowski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lucas is still on wobbly legs! Can Buttowski finish him?
Buttowski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Buttowski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lucas seems to have recovered his senses.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buttowski as he jumps to the side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buttowski walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Lucas drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Buttowski swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Lucas's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
