Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eero Heinaluoma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephan Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eero Heinaluoma!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heinaluoma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stone as he jumps to the side.
Stone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Heinaluoma shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stone napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Heinaluoma is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Heinaluoma tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Heinaluoma working the strikes but Stone uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Heinaluoma is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stone sees it coming and defends easily.
Stone trying to control but Heinaluoma postures up.
Heinaluoma tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stone knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Heinaluoma has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Heinaluoma seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Stone tries to get to full guard but Heinaluoma has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stone leaves Heinaluoma with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Heinaluoma counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Heinaluoma lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stone manages to get to full guard.

Stone unloads with some shots from mount but Heinaluoma bucks and avoids them well.
Heinaluoma is trying to escape the mount.
Heinaluoma sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Stone trying to control the pace.
The fighters are battling for position here. Heinaluoma manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Stone avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stone gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Heinaluoma is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Heinaluoma circles away and we're back to standing.

Heinaluoma has Stone up against the cage in a clinch.
Stone controlling the action here for a moment.
Heinaluoma misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stone.
Heinaluoma tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stone avoids it.
Heinaluoma can't get the takedown.
Stephan Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eero Heinaluoma.
Stone dodges an elbow strike from Heinaluoma.
Heinaluoma is trying to drag Stone to the mat but Stone just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Stone tries to score a body lock takedown but Heinaluoma shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Stone successfully pulls guard.
Stone is looking to stand up but Heinaluoma isn't so interested in that idea.
Heinaluoma is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Stone keeping moving, preventing Heinaluoma from controlling successfully.
Stone controls Heinaluoma momentarily but Heinaluoma frees himself.
Stone looking to control but Heinaluoma passes into half guard.
Heinaluoma is trying to control the action in half guard but Stone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eero Heinaluoma dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stone avoids the head kick by Heinaluoma.
Heinaluoma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.
Stone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Heinaluoma pinned against the cage. Heinaluoma gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Heinaluoma wants to clinch but Stone slips to the side

and Stone counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Heinaluoma can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heinaluoma bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stone's guard.
Heinaluoma not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Heinaluoma is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Heinaluoma slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Stone is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Heinaluoma fails with the takedown.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nice takedown defense from Stone. No joy for Heinaluoma on that attempt.
Stephan Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eero Heinaluoma.

Stone gets a clinch.
Stone gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Heinaluoma.

Stone works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Heinaluoma is trying to control the position but Stone postures up.
Heinaluoma wants to sweep here but Stone controlling him for the moment.
Stone wants to pass the guard but Heinaluoma is keeping the position.

Heinaluoma looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Stone is defending well. Heinaluoma quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Stone has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Heinaluoma celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
