PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Heywood Jablowme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jablowme comes to the cage accompanied by hells bells. Vera has chosen Romper Stomper as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heywood Jablowme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominic Vera!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera slaps away a takedown attempt from Jablowme, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jablowme takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Vera throws a good cross that connects.
Jablowme shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jablowme changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vera tries to avoid it but Jablowme manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vera to the ground. Vera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jablowme on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jablowme takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Vera lands with a slapping head kick.

Jablowme bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vera manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jablowme has hold of Vera's hands but Vera slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Vera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vera seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jablowme keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jablowme wants to control but Vera is keeping busy.
Jablowme wants to get back to his feet.

Vera stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jablowme to get to his feet.

Vera clinches up with Jablowme and pushes him back against the cage.

Vera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jablowme.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heywood Jablowme. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jablowme throws a nice looking combination but Vera bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jablowme has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jablowme there as he acknowledges the shot.
Vera throws a head kick that misses.
Jablowme tries for a takedown but Vera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jablowme tries to move into range but Vera moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Dominic Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jablowme walks into a stiff left hand from Vera.
Jablowme is breathing heavily.
Jablowme lands with a nice body punch.
Jablowme tries to clinch but Vera moves out of range.
Jablowme wants to clinch.
Jablowme takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Vera throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Vera lands a nice hook to Jablowme's body. Jablowme takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jablowme fails to land the takedown.
Jablowme tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jablowme doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Jablowme or perhaps it was just good defense by Vera which made him look bad.
Vera throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jablowme gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Vera.
Jablowme takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Jablowme is rocked!
Vera throws an overhand right that lands on Jablowme's shoulder, as Jablowme tries to avoid the shot.
Oh Jablowme is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jablowme sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Vera missing with a left hand there. Jablowme was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vera tries a head kick but it misses.
Jablowme seems to have got his legs back now.
Vera cracks Jablowme with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Jablowme tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Vera pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Jablowme is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
