The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
PEGADOR gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Butts to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Butts prevents PEGADOR from getting back to his feet.
Butts throwing strikes from guard but PEGADOR blocks nicely.
Butts is working PEGADOR over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
PEGADOR is looking for a triangle but Butts pushes his legs off easily.
Butts passes PEGADOR's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Butts wants to pass to mount but PEGADOR is defending the position.

The cut above Jose PEGADOR's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jose PEGADOR's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
