Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Foti Vasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Foti Vasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vasa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vasa tries to get out of the position.
Vasa looking for a sweep but Silva has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Vasa gets back to half guard.
Vasa tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Silva is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Vasa wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Vasa is breathing heavily.
Silva is keen to just control but Vasa is a slippery customer.
Vasa trying to control but Silva postures up.
Silva content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Vasa is looking to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Vasa tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vasa circles away.
Vasa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Silva wants to clinch up but Vasa keeps it at a distance.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vasa pinned against the cage. Vasa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Foti Vasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vasa's guard.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Vasa looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Silva has picked Vasa up and slammed him! Vasa can't keep hold of the triangle and Silva manages to pass to side control!
Vasa seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.
Silva advances to mount.
Vasa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Silva is landing with some decent strikes but Vasa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Vasa can't escape the position.
Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vasa is looking to escape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Silva dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Vasa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vasa throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Foti Vasa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vasa has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vasa just stands there and leans against the cage.

Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vasa uses from the top position.
Vasa throws and elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vasa's guard. Nice move by Silva!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vasa is striking off his back. Silva thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is looking to take a break and control but Vasa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is thwarting Vasa's attempts to control the position.

Vasa tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Vasa, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Vasa against the cage but Vasa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Foti Vasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Vasa tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vasa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vasa clinches with his opponent.
Vasa tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Vasa drops back down to his feet.
Still in the clinch, Vasa scores with a nice short uppercut.
Vasa is looking to control Silva's arms but Silva gets an underhook and turns him. Now Vasa has his back to the cage.
Silva controlling the action here for a moment.
Silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Silva lands a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Vasa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Silva takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Vasa tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva lands a nice looking body kick.
Vasa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vasa wants it to stay on the feet.
Vasa looks to clinch
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Vasa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.
Vasa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vasa swivels and escapes.
Vasa throws a lazy head kick

and Silva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vasa!

Vasa tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.
Vasa tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Silva fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Vasa wants to try and get back to his feet.
Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vasa tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.
A nice elbow there by Silva.
Silva looking to control but Vasa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
You get the feeling that Vasa really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Anderson Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
BOOM! Silva connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that's the end of the fight!
Anderson Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
