Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thien Dinh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Yared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renato Yared is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thien Dinh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dinh throws out a leg kick but Yared moves out of range and Dinh only half commits.
Dinh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dinh keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dinh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yared to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Yared drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dinh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yared has Dinh in his guard.

Yared throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dinh escapes and throws Yared's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dinh has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dinh misses with a head kick.
Yared fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Yared crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dinh - the referee stops the clock and Yared gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dinh. Yared manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Dinh has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Yared shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dinh pinned against the cage. Dinh gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Yared tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yared has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dinh sneaks out the side door and pushes Yared away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thien Dinh.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dinh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
