Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Raz Dupree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jorge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raz Dupree had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raz Dupree!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Jorge!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupree scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Jorge closes the distance and clinches.
Dupree can't break the clinch.
Dupree blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jorge works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Dupree is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jorge is controlling him.
Jorge is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jorge's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Jorge loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jorge thows a big elbow that misses.
Jorge is stalling in the full guard.

Let's hope that Jorge has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

No joy there for Dupree, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jorge closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dupree circles away.

Jorge shoots for a double leg takedown but Dupree sprawls well. He's pushed Jorge's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dupree is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jorge asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
An elbow from Jorge crashes against the mat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dupree dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dupree throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dupree shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jorge counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jorge stalling away here and it's allowed Dupree to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Jorge fails to land the takedown.
Jorge looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dupree is fending him off so far but Jorge persists. Nope, Dupree circles away and we're back to standing.
Dupree fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jorge looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Jorge counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dupree!

Jorge won't let Dupree get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Jorge stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Jorge closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jorge prevents Dupree from standing back up.

Jorge is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jorge seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dupree does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jorge might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dupree kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jorge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jorge seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dupree does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A combination from Dupree does no damage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dupree!
Jorge takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jorge takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jorge is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dupree sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Raz Dupree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jorge.

Dupree cracks Jorge with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Raz Dupree is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

James Jorge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dupree goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
