Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ville Apila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carl Cafuzo!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cafuzo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Apila sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Apila.
Cafuzo is looking for a sweep.
Cafuzo gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Apila is trying to control. Cafuzo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cafuzo gets full guard.
Cafuzo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Apila tries to free his leg and advance position but Cafuzo is retaining full guard.
Cafuzo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Apila would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Apila got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cafuzo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Apila has managed to get both his arms back between Cafuzo's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Apila not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cafuzo wants to control the position but Apila says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Apila stands up and beckons Cafuzo to join him on the feet.

Cafuzo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Apila did well to prevent Cafuzo getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cafuzo wants to free his trapped foot but Apila is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cafuzo wants to control but Apila is keeping him busy.

Despite being in the dominant position, Carl Cafuzo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Apila counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Apila wants to stand but Cafuzo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Ville Apila will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The referee asks Cafuzo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cafuzo prefers to stall for the moment though.

Let's hope that Cafuzo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Apila is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cafuzo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

and Cafuzo counters with a shoot takedown. Apila fights it but they end up in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cafuzo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Apila is one step ahead there.
Apila won't allow Cafuzo to get back to his feet.

I would just about give that final round to Carl Cafuzo.
I think Cafuzo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
