Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henry Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Alfonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davison defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alfonzo.
Alfonzo has a takedown stuffed.
Davison slaps away a takedown attempt from Alfonzo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Henry Davison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drew Alfonzo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alfonzo is defended easily by Davison.
Alfonzo shoots in and drives through. Davison sprawls well.
Alfonzo closes the distance and clinches up with Davison, looking for a takedown. Alfonzo pushes Davison against the cage but Davison circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alfonzo keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davison drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alfonzo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davison has Alfonzo in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Alfonzo paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Davison - great work!
