Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quinton Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray Smith!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A head kick from Smith lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.

Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there.
Jackson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jackson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Smith regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jackson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control.

Jackson throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jackson wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.

Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.

Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.

Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jackson stands up over Smith, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Quinton Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackson connects with a nice short shot to Smith's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ray Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Quinton Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Smith dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quinton Jackson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
