PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Daiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewey King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daiz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Daiz momentarily.

Daiz closes the distance and clinches.
Daiz is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

King drops back looking for a leg! Daiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Daiz manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Daiz's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Daiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.
Daiz thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
King throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daiz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
King throws and elbow that misses. Daiz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in King's guard. Nice move by Daiz!
King manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daiz manages to get himself to full guard.

Daiz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. King manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Daiz is breathing heavily.

King drops back looking for a leg! Daiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Daiz manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Daiz's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King wants to control from the top but Daiz keeps moving.

King is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Daiz has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Daiz!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daiz's guard.

King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
