Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Dent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arthur Dent!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dent shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hayes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hayes wants to get back to his feet but Dent is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dent stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Hayes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hayes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hayes throws a right and a left that Dent avoids nicely.

I looks like Dent might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Arthur Dent just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dent shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dent showed some decent athleticism there.

Dent is nestled in close to Hayes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dent is taking a breather. Hayes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dent winds up and cracks Hayes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dent is pressing down on Hayes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hayes is holding on for now.

Dent wants to finish this one by submission but Hayes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dent.

Hayes is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Dent is looking for the choke from the back position but Hayes is controlling his hands well.

Dent is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Dent gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Dent gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Dent apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Hayes has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Dent is punishing Hayes with strikes - can he finish him?!

Arthur Dent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dent shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hayes sprawls well. Hayes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dent gets slowly back to his feet.

Hayes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dent has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hayes has managed to get both his arms back between Dent's legs - danger averted.

Well Dent has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
