Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Fowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chase Fowler!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez tries to clinch but Fowler is having none of it.
Fowler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Valdez has his takedown stuffed

and Fowler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valdez's guard now.
Valdez is trying to keep Fowler in close.
Valdez wants to stand up but Fowler is controlling him.
Fowler won't allow Valdez to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdez trying to keep a closed guard but Fowler is proving a slippery customer.
Valdez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fowler slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Valdez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fowler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Fowler counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Valdez!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fowler is working for a guillotine from mount but Valdez frees his head quite easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Despite being in the dominant position, Chase Fowler just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fighters circling - Valdez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Fowler shoots in and drives through. Valdez sprawls well.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valdez is defended easily by Fowler.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Fowler dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Valdez can't do much from the bottom here.
Valdez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Valdez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fowler controls from within his opponent's guard.

Fowler decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Valdez, up you get!

Fowler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Fowler is breathing heavily.
Fowler shoots in for a takedown but Valdez shows good takedown defense.

Valdez drives through and clinches with Fowler against the cage.
Fowler tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bobby Valdez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Fowler.

Valdez clinches up with Fowler and pushes him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Fowler's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Valdez decides to pull guard.
Valdez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fowler manages to get himself to full guard.

Valdez trying to control the position from guard on top but Fowler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fowler can't keep his opponent in guard - Valdez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Valdez postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Fowler to stand up.

Fowler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Valdez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fowler is controlling him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for Fowler with that takedown attempt.
Valdez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fowler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fowler leaves Valdez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fowler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Valdez dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Fowler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fowler lands in his opponent's guard.
Fowler wants to control from the top but Valdez keeps moving.
Fowler postures up.
Valdez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fowler is one step ahead there.

Valdez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fowler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Valdez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fowler looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Fowler stands up and waves to Valdez to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fowler misses with a combination
and Valdez counters with a leg kick.
Fowler moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Valdez has his takedown stuffed

and Fowler counters with a takedown into side control.
Valdez tries to bench press Fowler off him but Fowler keeps the position.
Fowler cracks Valdez with a big right hand but Valdez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Chase Fowler has got the better of the ground game so far.
Valdez is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Fowler controls the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fowler's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Valdez struggling a bit here.
A lull in the action here.
Fowler working away.
Valdez is trying to buck Fowler off.
Fowler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valdez keeps working.
Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
You can see the frustration on Valdez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Fowler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Valdez's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chase Fowler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fowler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
