The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a right and a left that Prateado avoids nicely.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Prateado moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva looks to land a combination. Prateado sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Prateado fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Prateado ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Prateado no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Prateado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Prateado wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prateado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Prateado feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prateado accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fred Prateado is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Prateado lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
