Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Little (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Howell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Little!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Little tries to clinch there but Howell circles away.
Little throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Howell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Little tries to clinch but Howell is having none of it.
Howell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Howell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Little's half guard.

Howell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Little looking to sit in guard and control but Howell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Howell stands and steps away. Little gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Howell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Little as he jumps to the side.
Little tries to close the distance and clinch but Howell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Little stuffs the takedown attempt from Howell. Howell gets slowly back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Little can do anything to dispel that myth.

Howell looks up at the clock and then as Little takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Howell smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Little is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Howell.

and Howell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Howell.

Howell controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Howell here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Little has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Howell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Little is looking to stand back up but Howell counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Little.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Howell in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Howell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Howell pivots and extends the arm, Little falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Howell! Well done that man!
