Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Neilberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cash's entrance music is Manhunt Theme. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Cash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Neilberg!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cash has Neilberg up against the cage in a clinch.
Cash tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cash pulls guard.

Cash is looking for a triangle here but Neilberg uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cash is looking to regain half guard here but Neilberg keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cash can't do much from the bottom here.
Neilberg is staying tight to Cash's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cash tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Neilberg is not going to allow Cash to sit and survive in this position.
Cash tries to escape but Neilberg has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cash controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cash staying busy and making it hard for Neilberg to control.
Neilberg biding his time, looking for the opening.
Neilberg's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Cash turns into Neilberg and is now in his guard.
Cash passes Neilberg's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Neilberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cash. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cash uses his free foot to push down on Neilberg's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Neilberg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cash misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Neilberg tries to hold on but Cash pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cash stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Neilberg throws a head kick but Cash moves out of range.
Cash lands a nice looking body shot.
Neilberg darts in trying to clinch
and Cash counters with a two punch combo.
Neilberg throws a right and a left that both miss.
Neilberg looks gassed!
Neilberg dodges the punch combination from Cash.
Cash lands with a nice body punch.
Neilberg closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cash counters with an outside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cash scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cash misses with a few strikes there.
Neilberg throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cash counters with a nice low kick that buckles Neilberg's knee momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cash shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Neilberg defends it nicely.
Cash scores with a one two! Neilberg had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Cash closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cash decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Cash looks to land a combination. Neilberg sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Cash lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cash wants to clinch.
Neilberg fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Cash dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Neilberg tries to keep at a distance but Cash has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cash tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Neilberg just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cash is trying to drag Neilberg to the mat but Neilberg just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Neilberg has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Cash fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Cash. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cash has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Neilberg uses from the top position.

Neilberg has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Cash to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Neilberg is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Cash pulls down on the head and he's put Neilberg to sleep! This one is all over!
