PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bellseti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Froese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bellseti has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Bellseti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Froese!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Froese drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bellseti looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Bellseti is trying to escape the position but Froese is controlling the position.
Froese wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bellseti keeps working.
Froese slows the pace down.
I looks like Froese might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Bellseti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Froese wants to control the pace but Bellseti is squirming around nicely.

Despite being in the dominant position, Lucas Froese just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Froese is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Froese can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bellseti is looking to escape.

Ryan Bellseti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Froese.

Froese throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bellseti's waist but Bellseti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Froese off to one side.

Bellseti turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bellseti manages to end up in side control.

Froese looks to move to half guard but instead Bellseti has passed into mount! Damn!

Bellseti throws a strike but Froese avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Froese wants to work for an arm triangle but Bellseti is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Froese seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bellseti gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Froese to score an easy takedown into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Froese showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Bellseti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Bellseti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Froese looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Froese looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Froese!
Froese lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bellseti down.

Froese stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bellseti walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Froese jumps into guard, dragging Bellseti to the mat.

Froese manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Froese pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bellseti is squirming around, avoiding Froese's attempts to control the action.
Bellseti is looking to get to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bellseti wants to control but Froese is having none of it.
Froese wants to control the pace but Bellseti is squirming around nicely.
Froese is landing with some decent strikes but Bellseti is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lucas Froese comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Froese winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
