Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mij Neztil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Lapointe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lapointe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Don't Drink The Water. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lapointe closes the distance and clinches.
Lapointe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Neztil walks away with a smile on his face. Lapointe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Neztil throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lapointe sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lapointe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Neztil defends it nicely.
Neztil lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Neztil throws and low kick but Lapointe moves out of range easily.
Lapointe checks the leg kick.
Neztil tries a head kick but it misses.
Mij Neztil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Neztil looks to land a right hand but Lapointe moved out of range.
Neztil leaves Lapointe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mij Neztil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Lapointe.
Lapointe is looking to clinch but Neztil is avoiding it.
Neztil is looking to score with low kicks.
Lapointe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lapointe cracks Neztil with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Lapointe tries to close the distance and clinch but Neztil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lapointe looking to control but Neztil is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neztil sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lapointe wants to pass the guard but Neztil is defending well.

Lapointe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Neztil is just riding it out for now. Lapointe eventually gives up the hold.
Lapointe wants to free his trapped foot but Neztil is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neztil is trying to maintain the position but Lapointe is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neztil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lapointe is pressing down on Neztil's thigh, looking to free his foot. Neztil is holding on for now.
Lapointe prevents Neztil from improving his position.

Lapointe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lapointe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lapointe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Neztil.
Neztil throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lapointe drives through and clinches with Neztil against the cage.

Lapointe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Neztil doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Neztil manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neztil decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lapointe, up you get!
Neztil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neztil throws a nice looking combination but Lapointe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lapointe moves in looking to clinch but Neztil pushes him off.

Lapointe ducks under a wild hook from Neztil.
Neztil lands with a right that hurts Lapointe. Lapointe looks to clinch but Neztil throws a short knee that drops Lapointe. This one is all over!
