Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shin Sakimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Patricio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adrian Patricio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patricio throws a combination. Sakimura tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Sakimura slaps away a takedown attempt from Patricio, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sakimura drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sakimura thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Patricio wants to sweep here but Sakimura controlling him for the moment.

Sakimura drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sakimura jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Patricio not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Patricio trying to keep a closed guard but Sakimura is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Patricio counters by clinching up.

Patricio has Sakimura pressed against the cage, preventing Sakimura from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Sakimura is trying to get an arm triangle but Patricio is defending well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Patricio can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sakimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sakimura connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Patricio some visible discomfort.
Patricio takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sakimura works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Sakimura has an Americana. Patricio didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sakimura is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sakimura hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
