Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PT Coolidge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kennedy comes to the cage accompanied by MegaDeth - Symphony of Destruction. PT Coolidge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, PT Coolidge!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coolidge shoots in looking for a takedown. Kennedy tries to sprawl out of it but Coolidge keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kennedy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Coolidge avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kennedy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Coolidge on the side of the head.
Kennedy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kennedy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Coolidge.
Kennedy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kennedy throws a body punch but Coolidge moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coolidge looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kennedy has picked Coolidge up and slammed him! Coolidge can't keep hold of the triangle and Kennedy manages to pass to side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kennedy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kennedy wants it to stay on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kennedy.

Kennedy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kennedy misses the shot to the body.
Coolidge tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kennedy was well out of range. Poor timing from Coolidge.

Coolidge tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kennedy tries to stand but Coolidge is controlling from the bottom.

Coolidge has his foot on Kennedy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kennedy works his way back into a safe position though.

Kennedy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kennedy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kennedy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Coolidge can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coolidge is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kennedy tries to kick Coolidge off but Coolidge keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kennedy tries to roll over but Coolidge keeps him under control.
Coolidge is thwarting Kennedy's attempts to control the position.
Kennedy is pressing down on Coolidge's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kennedy controls Coolidge momentarily but Coolidge frees himself.

Coolidge drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Coolidge jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Coolidge takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kennedy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coolidge defends well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kennedy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kennedy throws a leg kick but Coolidge checks it.
Kennedy throws a jab when Coolidge was well out of range.
PT Coolidge has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kennedy misses with a hook. Coolidge ducked under it nicely.

James Kennedy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Coolidge drops his hands momentarily and Kennedy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kennedy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Coolidge has a takedown stuffed.
James Kennedy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Coolidge tries for a takedown but Kennedy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Kennedy.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kennedy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
