Cardoso has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Preston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cardoso has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Preston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cardoso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cardoso changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Preston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cardoso looks up at the clock and then as Preston takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cardoso smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Drogo Preston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cardoso postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Preston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cardoso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cardoso is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Preston is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cardoso throws a strike but Preston avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Cardoso is looking to work some ground and pound but Preston has wrist control.

Cardoso chips away with some ground and pound.
Preston looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cardoso keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Preston's head.

Anderson Sebastiao Cardoso has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Drogo Preston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cardoso is working Preston over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anderson Sebastiao Cardoso.
I think Preston has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
