Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barney Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bin Laden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by On To The Next One. The key to victory for Barney Lee has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barney Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bin Laden!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice defenses there by Laden.
Lee looks to land a left hand but Laden moved out of range nicely.
Laden takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Barney Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee scores with a jab to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Laden.
Lee tests Laden's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Laden shoots in but no luck this time.

Jab, jab by Lee - just one landing.
Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Laden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Laden.
Laden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Laden not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Laden wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laden wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lee misses with a body shot

so Laden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Laden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laden wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Lee is pulling down on Laden's head. It's preventing any offense from Laden, at least for the moment.
Laden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now.
Laden looks gassed!
Lee is looking to stand up but Laden isn't so interested in that idea.
Laden passes into half guard.
Lee is looking for a sweep. Laden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Laden wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lee looks like he's trying to stand up.
Laden is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A jab from Lee does it's job there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Barney Lee will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Laden manages to avoid it.
Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Laden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lee prevents Laden from moving into mount.
Laden controls the position.
Laden trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.

Laden is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Laden takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Laden is breathing heavily.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lee's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Lee duly obliges.
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lee moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Laden walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Laden takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A nice combination there by Lee.


Laden is rocked!

Lee throws a hook but Laden blocks it.
Lee dips to his left and cracks Laden with an uppercut!
Lee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Laden looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lee lands a nice looking body shot.
Lee misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee tries to bum rush Laden with a series of wild strikes but Laden uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Laden counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laden was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barney Lee dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Lee is trying to control Laden's posture but Laden avoids it.
Laden is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lee tries to clinch but Laden moves out of range.

Lee throws a lazy right hand but Laden sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Laden bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A combination from Lee does no damage.
Lee misses with a series of wild punches.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lee lands a lovely overhand right.
Lee thuds his right hand into Laden's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Laden has his takedown stuffed
and Lee counters with a nice body shot.
Bin Laden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barney Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Laden defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lee.

And that's the end of the fight!
Barney Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
