Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick O Neil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson comes to the cage accompanied by boom. O Neil has chosen eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Shane Wilson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Neil's waist but O Neil gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wilson off to one side.
O Neil defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilson.
O Neil stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wilson tries for a takedown but O Neil sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wilson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

O Neil fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wilson sprawls well initially but O Neil persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

O Neil works his way into full mount!

O Neil jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wilson manages to avoid the submission attempt.

O Neil is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wilson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
O Neil trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
O Neil working the ground and pound from side control.
O Neil wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.
Wilson throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wilson pushes O Neil away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, O Neil gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ground and pound from O Neil seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

O Neil wants to control but Wilson is keeping him busy.

O Neil working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
O Neil swings around for an armbar but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into O Neil's guard.
O Neil is looking to stand back up but Wilson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by O Neil.
O Neil is refusing to be controlled, as Wilson sits in half guard.
O Neil pushes Wilson off looking to stand but Wilson dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
O Neil is refusing to be controlled, as Wilson sits in half guard.
Still in half guard, Wilson seems content to control.
Wilson stalling away here and it's allowed O Neil to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Wilson tries to free his leg and advance position but O Neil is retaining full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wilson looking to sit in guard and control but O Neil gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wilson wants to sweep here but O Neil controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
O Neil scores with a couple of short elbows.
Wilson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

O Neil is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
O Neil in side control, just content to control the action for now.

O Neil laying and praying for a moment but Wilson takes advantage and regains half guard.
Wilson looks like he's trying to stand up.

O Neil decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Wilson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and O Neil counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Wilson has control of O Neil's left arm, preventing O Neil from doing any damage.
O Neil is looking to advance position but Wilson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Patrick O Neil showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Wilson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wilson.
Wilson passes O Neil's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wilson wants to control but O Neil is keeping him busy.
O Neil wants to get back to full guard.

O Neil falls off balance throwing a combination

and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
O Neil is looking for a sweep. Wilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, Wilson seems content to control.

Wilson wants to take a breather but O Neil is having none of it.

O Neil manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
O Neil drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
O Neil shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into side control. O Neil won't be happy with that.
Wilson controls the position.
Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but O Neil keeps working.
O Neil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

O Neil tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wilson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wilson decides to stand up, so the ref orders O Neil to his feet.
O Neil shoots and misses

and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Shane Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick O Neil.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wilson is trying to control the action in half guard but O Neil is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
O Neil is trying to control but can't.
Wilson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson works his way into side control.

O Neil bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Wilson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Patrick O Neil is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Shane Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
