Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raul Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Cabrera has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raul Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Duncan.
Cabrera throws an overhand right that lands on Duncan's shoulder, as Duncan tries to avoid the shot.

Duncan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cabrera to the mat! Cabrera manages to get full guard.
Cabrera wants to stand and escape but Duncan is having none of it.
Duncan controlling from the top position.
Duncan trying to control the position from guard on top but Cabrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duncan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Duncan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cabrera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cabrera has escaped and now he's on top!

Cabrera is looking to stand up but Duncan won't let him.

Duncan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cabrera wanted to stand there but Duncan had control of the position.

Duncan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cabrera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cabrera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cabrera wants to stand but Duncan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Duncan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Duncan has his foot on Cabrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cabrera works his way back into a safe position though.
Cabrera tries to free his leg and advance position but Duncan is retaining full guard.

Duncan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Duncan looks gassed!

Duncan has his foot on Cabrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cabrera works his way back into a safe position though.
Duncan has a closed guard, preventing Cabrera from standing up.
Cabrera working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cabrera trying to control the position from guard on top but Duncan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cabrera would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Duncan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cabrera wants to get up but he can't break Duncan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cabrera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Duncan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cabrera gets to his feet. Duncan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Cabrera looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Duncan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cabrera.
Duncan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A combination from Cabrera does no damage.
Cabrera bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cabrera plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Cabrera throws a jab when Duncan was well out of range.
Duncan blocks a head kick by Cabrera.

Cabrera tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Raul Cabrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cabrera thows a left - swing and a miss!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Duncan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Duncan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cabrera is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Duncan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duncan looking to control but instead Cabrera has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Duncan dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Cabrera tries a head kick but it misses.

Duncan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cabrera is looking to escape.
Duncan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Duncan is working for a kimura but Cabrera is defending it quite comfortably.

Duncan is breathing heavily.

Duncan is taking a breather. Cabrera says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Duncan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cabrera sees it coming and defends easily.
Cabrera tries to get to full guard but Duncan has control of the leg.
Duncan wants to control but Cabrera is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duncan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Cabrera looks like he's trying to stand up.

Duncan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Duncan is taking a breather. Cabrera says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cabrera is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cabrera trying to hold on to Duncan's head to control him but Duncan postures up.

Duncan trying to control the action but Cabrera is working from the bottom.

Duncan seems to be looking for submissions.
Cabrera is trying to stand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duncan throws a series of punches but Cabrera moves out of range.
Cabrera listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Duncan moves in looking to clinch but Cabrera pushes him off.
Duncan has a takedown stuffed.

Cabrera has Duncan up against the cage in a clinch.
Duncan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cabrera's efforts to push away.
Cabrera is trying to break free.

Cabrera connects with a knee to the head.
Cabrera lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Cabrera pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cabrera tries a head kick but it misses.
Duncan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cabrera misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cabrera lands with a shot to the body.
Cabrera throws a head kick that half lands.
Cabrera lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Cabrera plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Cabrera connects with a crisp jab.
Cabrera tries a head kick but it misses.
Cabrera throws a head kick that misses.
Cabrera tries to clinch but Duncan moves out of range.
Cabrera jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raul Cabrera dominated that second round.
That's time! Cabrera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Cabrera bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Duncan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cabrera as he jumps to the side.
A combination from Cabrera does no damage.
Cabrera is looking to clinch.
Cabrera fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Raul Cabrera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A slow jab from Cabrera misses its intended target.
Duncan avoids the head kick by Cabrera.
Duncan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Duncan dodges the punch combination from Cabrera.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cabrera throws an overhand right that lands on Duncan's shoulder, as Duncan tries to avoid the shot.

Duncan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Duncan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cabrera is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cabrera is trying to get back to half guard.
Duncan tries to score with some ground and pound. Cabrera controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Duncan wants to control but Cabrera is keeping him busy.

Duncan stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cabrera throws a nice head kick!
Duncan takes a swing at Cabrera's ribcage but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cabrera connects with a solid leg kick.
A jab from Cabrera misses.
Cabrera misses with a takedown

and Duncan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cabrera won't be happy with that.
Cabrera is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Duncan has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Duncan tries for a kimura but Cabrera is defending well.
Duncan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cabrera is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Duncan trying to control the action but Cabrera is working from the bottom.

Duncan is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Cabrera is trying to escape and Duncan transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Cabrera is forced to tap! Nice work there by Duncan! Very nice indeed!
