Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Handy Couture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Couture as he avoids it easily.
Couture darts in and clinches Holmes up against the cage.
Couture has clasped his hands together around Holmes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The strikes coming from Couture are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Couture trying to control the position but Holmes is working away.
Couture tries to advance to mount but can't.
Couture decides to stand up, so the ref orders Holmes to his feet.
Holmes shoots for a double leg takedown but Couture sprawls well. He's pushed Holmes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Couture gets the takedown into side control.
Couture trying to control the action but Holmes is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holmes can't do much from the bottom here.

Holmes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Couture kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Couture scoring with punches and elbows.
Couture swings around for an armbar but Holmes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Couture's guard.
Holmes trying to control but Couture is working from the bottom.
Holmes drops back looking for a leg! Couture is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Couture manages to kick Holmes off! Holmes jumps back into Couture's guard.
Couture is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Holmes trying to control but Couture is working from the bottom.
Holmes stands up and waves to Couture to follow him.
Couture throws a leg kick that misses.
Holmes with a poor takedown
and Couture counters with a nice double leg into side control. Holmes won't be happy with that.
Handy Couture has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Holmes.
Couture has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Couture is breathing heavily.
Couture tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Couture shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Holmes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Couture's guard now.

Couture is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Holmes is aware though and is defending well.
Holmes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Holmes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Holmes is stalling in the full guard.
Holmes postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Holmes stopping the sweep attempt from Couture.
Holmes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Holmes wants to control from the top but Couture keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Couture is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Handy Couture dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Holmes dives in and grabs Couture's left leg, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes down on Holmes's head and hops out.
Holmes tries for a takedown but Couture sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Holmes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Couture defends it nicely.

Couture feints and as Holmes raises his hands in defense, Couture changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Holmes is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Couture pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holmes is keeping the position for now.
Holmes keeping moving, preventing Couture from controlling successfully.
Holmes striking off his back but it's not causing Couture any problems.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Holmes looking for a guillotine here but Couture defends easily.
Couture wants to control from the top but Holmes keeps moving.
Holmes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Couture doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Couture manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Handy Couture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Couture scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Couture gets to his feet. Holmes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Holmes shoots and misses
and Couture counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holmes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Holmes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Holmes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Holmes trying to keep a closed guard but Couture is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Holmes is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Couture wanted to stand there but Holmes had control of the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Holmes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Couture counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Couture.
Holmes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Couture doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Holmes is tightening it up a little... Couture has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Couture reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Couture taps out! nice BJJ there by Holmes!
