Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick comes to the ring accompanied by Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up to Boston. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cross moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cross looks to throw the jab but Patrick is out of range.

Patrick is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cross asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cross tries to score with some ground and pound. Patrick controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Cross creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Patrick sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cross remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

David Cross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
