Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Bowbish!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Lee.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee throws a jab when Bowbish was well out of range.
Lee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Bowbish fails with a takedown attempt.
Bowbish takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bowbish moves out of range of the strikes.
Dan Bowbish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bowbish looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee throws a hook but Bowbish blocks it.
Bowbish ducks under a wild hook from Lee.
Bowbish walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lee misses with a wild body shot.
Lee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowbish to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bowbish missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bowbish trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bowbish prevents Lee from getting back to his feet.
Bowbish cracks Lee with a solid left hand.
Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bowbish can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bowbish wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bowbish content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lee has locked up a guillotine! Lee's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bowbish is holding on here and Lee must be using up a lot of energy. Bowbish has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lee gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
