Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hikaru Monotoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wrestling Law II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monotoshi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Law II.
Monotoshi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Monotoshi is looking to clinch.

Monotoshi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Law II as he avoids it easily.

Law II attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monotoshi controls Law II momentarily but Law II frees himself.

Monotoshi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Monotoshi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Law II trying to control but Monotoshi is working from the bottom.
Monotoshi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Law II's guard.
Law II is looking to stand up but Monotoshi isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Law II is looking to stand up but Monotoshi isn't so interested in that idea.
Monotoshi passes Law II's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Monotoshi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Law II does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Monotoshi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Law II is surviving well by controlling Monotoshi's body position as best he can.

Monotoshi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Law II tries to hold on but Monotoshi postures up.

Monotoshi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Law II manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Law II tries to buck Monotoshi off but Monotoshi is having none of it.
Law II is not content to let Monotoshi control the position.
Monotoshi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Monotoshi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Law II is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Law II swats away the attempt to clinch by Monotoshi.

Monotoshi wants to take a breather but Law II is having none of it.
Law II throws a strike from the bottom but Monotoshi passes into side control!

Monotoshi is working to tighten is grip on Law II's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Law II has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Monotoshi is really squeezing tight and eventually Law II passes out! Monotoshi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
