The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Martyn checks it well.
Buckley moves out of range of the body kick from Martyn.
Buckley tries a head kick but it misses.
Martyn tries to clinch but Buckley moves out of range.
Martyn throws a right hand that Buckley ducks under and follows up with a left that Buckley also avoids with ease.
Martyn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Buckley's head.
Buckley connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Buckley jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

It looks like Thomas Martyn has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Buckley feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Martyn sprawling to the canvas! Martyn rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Buckley finish him?!

Martyn doesn't manage to clinch there - Buckley circles away.
Martyn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Martyn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Buckley's half guard.

Martyn is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Martyn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Buckley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

and Martyn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Buckley's guard.
Martyn wants to control from the top but Buckley keeps moving.
Martyn stands up over Buckley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Martyn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buckley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martyn has managed to get both his arms back between Buckley's legs - danger averted.
