The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hanzo.
Alves jabs at Hanzo's body.
Alves misses with a series of wild punches.
Alves scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Alves lands a head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hanzo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alves on the side of the head.
Alves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanzo was well out of range. Poor timing from Alves.
Hanzo connects with a single shot there.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Alves, right into the meat.
Hanzo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hanzo ducks under a wild hook from Alves.
Hanzo lands with an overhand left.
Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hanzo closes the distance and pushes Alves back into the cage.
Hanzo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hanzo gets underhooks to prevent Alves's takedown attempt.

Hanzo has clasped his hands together around Alves's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Hanzo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Alves rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hanzo's guard! Nice work there by Alves!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Alves bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hanzo's head.

Alves moves into range and connects with a jab.

The fighters circle, before Alves throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Hanzo's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Alves lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
