The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mtagwa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Thornton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thornton tries to work over Mtagwa's front leg with a kick but Mtagwa checks it.

Thornton moves into the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Thornton.
Thornton stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Thornton prevents Mtagwa from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Mtagwa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Thornton lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Thornton tries to clinch but Mtagwa is having none of it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thornton fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Mtagwa square on the jaw! Damn, Mtagwa is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
