Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grul Algrott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rafael Santos has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rafael Santos seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Algrott fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Santos checks it well.
Algrott drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Algrott gets to his feet. Santos looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Algrott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Santos's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Santos duly obliges.
Algrott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Algrott doesn't manage to clinch there - Santos circles away.
Santos scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Santos tries to score with a low kick but Algrott moves his leg out of the way.
Grul Algrott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Algrott blocks the body kick.
Algrott closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santos tries to get to full guard but Algrott has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos gets full guard.

Santos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Algrott stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Algrott shoots for a takedown but Santos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Santos misses with the combination.
Algrott tries to clinch but Santos moves out of range.
Santos cracks Algrott with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Algrott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Algrott stands up from Santos's guard - Algrott perhaps looking for a knockout.
Santos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Santos lands a lovely overhand right.

Santos moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Santos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Santos throws a combination. Algrott tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Algrott shoots in looking for a takedown. Santos tries to sprawl out of it but Algrott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rafael Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grul Algrott.
Algrott throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Santos lands with a kick to the temple. Algrott shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Santos looks to land a combination. Algrott sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Algrott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Santos pinned against the cage. Santos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Santos stuffs the takedown.
Santos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Santos scores with a jab to the body.
Algrott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Algrott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Santos has escaped the position, nice work there.
Santos is looking to regain half guard here but Algrott keeps moving and retains side control.
Santos takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Santos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Algrott blocks the strikes from Santos.
Algrott trying to control the position but Santos is working away.
Santos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Algrott wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Algrott happy to just control the position for now.
Santos tries to bench press Algrott off him but Algrott keeps the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Algrott tries for a kimura but Santos is defending well.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A head kick by Algrott misses
and Santos counters with a left and a right that stings Algrott.
Santos swings for the body but Algrott moves out of range.

and Algrott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Algrott slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Santos keeping moving, preventing Algrott from controlling successfully.
Algrott tries to free his leg and advance position but Santos is retaining full guard.
Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Santos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Algrott in side control lands a decent elbow.
Algrott is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Algrott stands up and beckons Santos to his feet.

Santos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Algrott as he avoids it easily.

No joy there for Santos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Algrott counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Santos!
Algrott tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Algrott moves to the back.

Algrott keeps control of the position easily here as Santos tries to buck him off.
Santos can't escape the position.
Algrott looking to break Santos's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Santos remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Algrott will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Santos is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Algrott wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Santos rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Algrott passes to side control.
Algrott sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Santos is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Santos regains half guard.
Algrott looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Santos tries to roll over but Algrott keeps him under control.
Santos moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Santos throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grul Algrott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Algrott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santos sprawls well initially but Algrott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Santos wants to improve his position but Algrott is controlling well.

Algrott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

and Santos counters with a one-two to the body.

Algrott shoots for a takedown but Santos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Santos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Santos is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Santos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Algrott scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Algrott, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Algrott against the cage but Algrott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Algrott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Algrott gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Algrott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Algrott has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Santos defend it? Algrott steps over the head and cranks it - Santos is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Algrott!
