PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karl Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boston Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie slips a straight right by Marx.

Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Marx lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Marx.
Gracie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gracie throws a nice looking combination but Marx bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie falls off balance throwing a combination
and Marx counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Marx looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.

enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab.

and Marx counters with a slapping leg kick.
Marx throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gracie lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Marx has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Marx and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Gracie counters with a three punch combo that has Marx backing up. Marx nods at Gracie to acknowledge the strikes.

Gracie clobbers Marx with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Marx feints and then cracks Gracie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gracie down.

Gracie takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Gracie connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Marx lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Marx takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Marx throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Marx gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Gracie scores with a sloppy right hand. Marx should have avoided that one.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Marx is rocked!

It looks like Karl Marx has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie throws an uppercut from hell that sends Marx clean off his feet! He's out cold! Gracie stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
