PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Funku Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ankalagon The Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Black has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Funku Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ankalagon The Black!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming The Black to the mat! The Black manages to get full guard.
The Black looks gassed!
Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but The Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie connects with a couple of short punches.
The Black has momentary wrist control but Gracie slips an elbow through the middle.
Gracie is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gracie is nestled in close to The Black, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gracie is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Gracie scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie lands a nice short elbow.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gracie wants to take a breather but The Black is having none of it.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but The Black is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie uses his free foot to push down on The Black's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for The Black.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. The Black looks a forlorn figure.

It looks like Ankalagon The Black has been cut.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That has opened up Ankalagon The Black's cut even more.
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Gracie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ankalagon The Black's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ankalagon The Black's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
