Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Rockovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maynard Keenan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rockovich comes to the cage accompanied by MetalHealth by Quiet Riot. Keenan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rusty Cage by SOUNDGARDEN. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie Rockovich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maynard Keenan!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockovich stuffs the takedown.
Keenan is looking to clinch but Rockovich is avoiding it.
Rockovich keeps the fight on the outside.
Keenan throws a head kick but Rockovich moves out of range.
Keenan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rockovich moves out of range as Keenan throws a body kick.
Keenan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Keenan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rockovich, pushing him back against the cage.

Keenan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rockovich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Keenan looks to land a combination but Rockovich avoids it well.
Rockovich closes the distance and pushes Keenan back into the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Keenan throws an elbow but misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rockovich is trying to keep Keenan in close.
Rockovich wants to stand and escape but Keenan is having none of it.

Rockovich is looking to stand up but Keenan isn't so interested in that idea.
Keenan postures up in Rockovich's guard and throws a big left but Rockovich blocks it.
Rockovich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Keenan on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rockovich is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rockovich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rockovich throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Keenan shoots in looking for a takedown. Rockovich tries to sprawl out of it but Keenan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rockovich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rockovich tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keenan missing with punches from the bottom.
Keenan is looking for a sweep. Rockovich is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Keenan controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rockovich moves nicely into side control.
Rockovich is looking to take a break and control but Keenan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Keenan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Keenan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Keenan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rockovich moves into the clinch.
Keenan breaks the clinch.

and Rockovich counters with a straight right hand.
Keenan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rockovich connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rockovich blocks a head kick by Keenan.

Keenan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Keenan is breathing heavily.
Rockovich wants to get back to his feet.

Keenan pushes Rockovich off looking to stand but Rockovich dives back in and keeps control.
It looks like Rockovich is going to stand back up.
Keenan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Keenan.
Keenan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockovich gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rockovich wanted to stand there but Keenan had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Keenan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Keenan has his foot on Rockovich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rockovich works his way back into a safe position though.

Keenan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rockovich stacks Keenan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rockovich!

Keenan can't do much from the bottom here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Keenan wants to control but Rockovich is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Keenan is refusing to be controlled, as Rockovich sits in half guard.

Keenan throws a head kick that misses
and Rockovich counters with a leg kick.

Keenan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rockovich.
Maynard Keenan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Keenan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rockovich counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rockovich has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Keenan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rockovich is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Keenan pulls down on the head and he's put Rockovich to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Maynard Keenan!
