Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Nobriga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nobriga's entrance music is Queen's We Will Rock You. A fine choice. Tanner has chosen Wasted remix as his entrance music. John Tanner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Tanner!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner tries to clinch there but Nobriga circles away.
Nobriga on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tanner. Tanner obviously looking to wear him down.
Nobriga shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tanner pinned against the cage. Tanner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tanner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nobriga avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nobriga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tanner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nobriga somewhat.
Nobriga misses with a straight left.
Nobriga shoots in and drives through. Tanner sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Nobriga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left lands for Nobriga.
Nobriga misses with a body shot.
Tanner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tanner lands with an uppercut that bounces Nobriga off the cage and back into rage.
Nobriga is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tanner.
Nobriga misses the shot to the body.
Nobriga uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tanner.
Nobriga misses with an uppercut. Tanner saw that one coming.
Nobriga tries to clinch up
and Tanner counters with a slapping leg kick.
Tanner stuffs the takedown attempt from Nobriga. Nobriga gets slowly back to his feet.
Tanner takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Nice sprawl there from Tanner as Nobriga shoots in.

Tanner has Nobriga up against the cage in a clinch.
Tanner tries to break the clinch but Nobriga is controlling the position.

Nobriga pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nobriga misses with a looping right.
Nobriga takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
John Tanner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tanner misses with the combination.
Tanner throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nobriga's head.
Nobriga misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tanner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tanner throws a leg kick which misses Nobriga's front leg but catches the back leg as Nobriga tries to avoid it.

Tanner closes the distance and clinches.
Nobriga wants to break free but Tanner has control.
Nobriga lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nobriga keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tanner's efforts to push away.
Nobriga takes a knee right on the jaw!
Nobriga is breathing heavily.
Tanner controlling the action here for a moment.

Tanner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tanner moves into the clinch.

Tanner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nobriga keeps the fight on the outside.
Tanner plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tanner misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Tanner does no damage.
Tanner stalks Nobriga and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nobriga's face. Nobriga staggers backwards, shaken.
Tanner thows a body kick. Nobriga tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Tanner lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nobriga backs up against the cage.
Tanner throws a nice outside leg kick.
Nobriga avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nobriga throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tanner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nobriga sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Tanner lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nobriga will feel that in the morning.

Nobriga tries to keep at a distance but Tanner has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tanner lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nobriga backwards.

Tanner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tanner scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tanner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Nobriga is rocked!
Tanner connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Nobriga! He's out on his feet! Tanner rushes in and drops Nobriga with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
