Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dustin Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Drake sprawls well.
Drake misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Drake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie shoots in but Drake avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drake leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dustin Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Gracie.
Drake rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Drake stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drake wants it to stay on the feet.
Drake misses with a looping right.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Drake shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dustin Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gracie is trying to take his opponent's back.
Gracie takes Drake's back.
Gracie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Despite being in the dominant position, Rickson Gracie just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Drake pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Drake goes for a takedown attempt but Gracie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rickson Gracie dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drake's waist but Drake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Drake misses the jab.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Drake sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Drake shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Drake throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Drake doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.

Drake bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head.
Dustin Drake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Drake is looking to clinch.
Drake wants to clinch.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.

Nice defenses there by Gracie.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drake sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Drake works Gracie's body with a nice hook.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gracie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Drake did well to prevent Gracie getting side control.
Gracie prevents Drake from standing back up.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Drake knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dustin Drake dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Drake fails in his attempt to clinch.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gracie working away.
Gracie moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Drake is defending well.

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gracie tries to advance to mount but Drake denies him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gracie trying to control the action but Drake is working from the bottom.
Drake being controlled for a moment.
Drake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gracie moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gracie advances nicely into full mount.
Drake on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Drake tries to get out of the position.
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Drake is looking to escape.
Drake is trying to escape the mount.
