Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rigan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patty Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson has chosen The Faint - Hospital as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Machado here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Machado sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Patterson's guard.
Patterson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Machado has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Patterson is desperately trying to improve his position but Machado has a good base and remains in mount.

Machado is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Patterson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Patterson!
Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machado swivels though and keeps the full guard.
