The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schulte looks to land a right hand but Hickok moved out of range.

Hickok stalks Schulte and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Schulte's face. Schulte staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Brian Schulte has been cut.
Schulte has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hickok finds it's way round the side to connect with Schulte's head.

Schulte lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hickok circles away quickly and effectively.

Schulte fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hickok sprawls well initially but Schulte persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schulte is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hickok is looking for a triangle but Schulte pushes his legs off easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hickok's corner calls for a 1-2. Hickok obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hickok might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hickok, as that shot connected.

Brian Schulte's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Hickok thuds his right hand into Schulte's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Hickok gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hickok is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Come on Hickok - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
