Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cliff Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenn Edwards has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cliff Nash !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nash tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Edwards misses with the combination.
Nash shoots in for a double leg but Edwards sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nash tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Edwards paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Edwards avoids the head kick by Nash .
A low kick from Edwards is predictable there
and Nash counters with a nice body kick.
Nash keeps Edwards at a distance using the push kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Edwards.
Nash goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Nash fails with the takedown.
Edwards wants to slow Nash down by chopping away at his legs.
Nash shoots in for a takedown but Edwards shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Edwards closes the distance and clinches.
Nash tries to pull guard but Edwards won't allow it.

Nash drops down looking for an ankle pick but Edwards pulls his leg out and moves away.
Good leg kick by Nash there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Edwards has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Nash .
Edwards looks gassed!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nash , right into the meat.
Nash cracks the inside of Edwards's front leg.
Nash scores with a head kick.
Edwards tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Nash .
Nash throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edwards's waist but Edwards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nash off to one side.
Nash lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nash tries to clinch up

and Edwards counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nash tries to score a body lock takedown but Edwards shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Edwards gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nash .
Nash drops down looking for an ankle pick but Edwards pulls his leg out and moves away.

Edwards takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nash scores with a kick to the midsection.
Nash tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nash will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nash lands with a slapping head kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nash .
Edwards takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A head kick from Nash lands but Edwards takes it in his stride.
Edwards throws a one two combo.
Nash uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Edwards.
Nash fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nash throws a head kick that misses.

Edwards closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nash to the mat! Nash manages to get full guard.
Nash looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there.

Edwards slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Nash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Edwards missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Nash trying to keep a closed guard but Edwards is proving a slippery customer.
Edwards trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Edwards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Edwards counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Nash keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Edwards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Edwards won't allow Nash to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nash looking to control.
Nash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Edwards trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.
Edwards works over Nash with some ground and pound from guard.
Nash tries to land a sweep but no joy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Edwards is looking to clinch but Nash is avoiding it.

and Edwards counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nash is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Edwards gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Nash can't get the takedown.
Edwards's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Nash has Edwards pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Edwards manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cliff Nash dominated that round.

Edwards fails with an attempt to clinch.

Nash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Edwards makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Edwards postures up in Nash 's guard and throws a big left but Nash blocks it.

and Edwards counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nash 's guard now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Edwards throws a right and a left that Nash avoids nicely.

Edwards forces Nash back against the cage and clinches.
Nash is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Edwards pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cliff Nash . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nash is trying to drag Edwards to the mat but Edwards just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Edwards is pressed up against the cage. Nash has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Edwards down to the mat. Edwards avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch but Nash swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice straight punches there by Edwards. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Edwards.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nash looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nash gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nash lands a head kick!
Edwards throws a series of punches but Nash avoids them all with ease.
Glenn Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nash connects with a high kick.
Nash feints and then cracks Edwards's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Edwards down.
Nash tries to score a power double leg takedown but Edwards sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nash somewhat.
Nash wants to clinch.
Edwards blocks a head kick by Nash .
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Edwards throws a wild body kick that Nash sees coming a mile off.
Edwards throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nash clinches but Edwards breaks the clinch

and Edwards counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nash 's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glenn Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Nash is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Edwards is aware though and is defending well.

Nash looking for a guillotine here but Edwards defends easily.

Edwards stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Edwards has managed to clinch.
Nash jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Edwards walks away with a smile on his face. Nash gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Edwards escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Edwards misses with a wild body shot.
Crunch! Nash slams his shin into Edwards's torso.

Edwards is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nash 's half guard.
Edwards throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Nash looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Nash looks like he's trying to stand up.
Edwards moves nicely into side control.
Nash tries to escape but Edwards is in control.
Nash takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Edwards trying to control the action but Nash is working from the bottom.

Nash is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Edwards in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Nash wants to get back to his feet.

Edwards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Edwards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Nash manages to work his way to half guard, despite Edwards's best efforts.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Edwards is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nash is not content to let Edwards control the position.
Nash is looking for a sweep. Edwards is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Edwards is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Edwards seems to be looking for submissions.
Nash has hold of Edwards's hands but Edwards slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nash is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Edwards is tapping! Great win for Nash !
