The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whelan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kaiser.
Kaiser lands a slapping body shot.
Whelan takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Matthew Whelan has been cut.
Kaiser steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whelan.
Kaiser fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whelan manages to avoid it.
Whelan looks to throw the jab but Kaiser is out of range.
Whelan misses with a hook to the body
and Kaiser counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Whelan misses with a two punch combination.
Kaiser looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Whelan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Kaiser lands a left and a right that send Whelan crashing to the mat, dazed. Kaiser thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Whelan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kaiser.

Kaiser drops Whelan with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Whelan looks back up at him and smiles so Kaiser waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Whelan is still on wobbly legs! Can Kaiser finish him?
Whelan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Whelan looks gassed!
Kaiser darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Whelan's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Kaiser before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
