And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masato Michinoku!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi misses with a body shot.

Akagi feints and as Michinoku raises his hands in defense, Akagi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Michinoku is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Akagi drops back looking for a leg! Michinoku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Michinoku manages to kick Akagi off! Akagi jumps back into Michinoku's guard.

Akagi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Michinoku has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Akagi looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Michinoku is defending well. Akagi quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Michinoku has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Akagi celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
