Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Early Grayce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grayce is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free bird. Early Grayce is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz dives in and grabs Grayce's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grayce pushes down on Ortiz's head and hops out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ortiz.
Ortiz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grayce pinned against the cage. Grayce gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Ortiz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ortiz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Grayce!
Ortiz is breathing heavily.
Grayce is looking to get to half guard.
Grayce just holding on.
Grayce sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ortiz wants to control from the top but Grayce keeps moving.

Grayce tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grayce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Grayce winds up and cracks Ortiz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Grayce passes the guard and advances to mount!

Grayce is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ortiz is surviving well by controlling Grayce's body position as best he can.
