The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carver lands a nice shot to the body.

Gonzalez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carver defends it nicely.
Gonzalez defending well as Carver loads up on a big left hand.
Gonzalez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Carver throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gonzalez.
Carver throws a hook but Gonzalez avoids it easily.
Carver throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Carver swings for the body but Gonzalez moves out of range.

Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown but Carver shows good takedown defense.
Brian Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reuben Gonzalez.
Gonzalez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Carver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gonzalez manages to avoid it.
Gonzalez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carver pinned against the cage. Carver gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carver slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonzalez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gonzalez is looking to clinch but Carver is avoiding it.

Carver misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carver stuffs the takedown attempt from Gonzalez. Gonzalez gets slowly back to his feet.
Gonzalez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carver throws out the jab.
Carver throws a right and a left that Gonzalez avoids nicely.
Gonzalez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carver.
Gonzalez shoots for a double leg takedown but Carver sprawls well. He's pushed Gonzalez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brian Carver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice takedown defense from Carver. No joy for Gonzalez on that attempt.

Gonzalez wants to clinch up but Carver keeps it at a distance.
Gonzalez drops his hands momentarily and Carver takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Carver comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Carver darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Carver swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carver clobbers Gonzalez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up with Carver, looking for a takedown. Gonzalez pushes Carver against the cage but Carver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Carver is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Carver goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Gonzalez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carver throws out the jab.

Carver keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Carver looks to land a combination. Gonzalez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Gonzalez is rocked!
Carver circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gonzalez to the canvas! Gonzalez doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Carver keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
