Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wes Mimms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Felton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wes Mimms!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Felton!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Felton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Felton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mimms is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mimms is on top in guard.
Mimms postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mimms has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Felton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Mimms missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Mimms is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mimms postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mimms tries to land a knee to the head but Felton blocks with his arms.
Felton is trying to force a seperation but Mimms has the dominant position.

Mimms gets control of Felton's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mimms will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Felton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mimms swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mimms working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Felton has passed into half guard!

Felton seems to be working for a kimura but Mimms defends the submission attempt.

Felton prevents Mimms from standing back up.
Felton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mimms. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Felton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mimms's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mimms changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Felton tries to avoid it but Mimms manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Felton to the ground. Felton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Felton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Felton throws a body punch but Mimms moves out of range.
Felton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Mimms shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mimms thows a huge punch but Felton dodges it nicely.
Felton wants to improve his position but Mimms is controlling well.
Felton manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Felton wants to sweep here but Mimms controlling him for the moment.
Mimms postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Felton wants to sweep but no luck.
Mimms throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mimms postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Felton looking for a sweep. Not yet Felton, not yet.
Mimms trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Felton wants to stand but Mimms is controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Felton throws a right and a left that both miss.

Mimms closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Felton did well to prevent Mimms getting side control.
Felton keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Mimms thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Felton's head.

Mimms looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mimms throwing shots but Felton is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wes Mimms will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mimms's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Felton throws a hook to the side of Mimms's head but Mimms sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Mimms scores a takedown into full mount!
Mimms raining down shots from the mount!
BOOM! Mimms connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Felton tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mimms throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mimms lands a big shot there that rocks Felton but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mimms sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Felton regains half guard.

Mimms is trying to work for a kimura but Felton is defending well.

Felton is looking for a sweep. Mimms is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mimms working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mimms is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Felton controlling the position well.
Felton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mimms scores with a couple of nice shots.

Mimms is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Felton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Felton is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mimms throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mimms is nestled in close to Felton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mimms not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mimms thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Felton to regain full guard.
Felton is trying to control the position but Mimms postures up.

Mimms is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Felton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Felton has escaped and now he's on top!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Felton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mimms decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Felton's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mimms accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Felton has momentary wrist control but Mimms slips an elbow through the middle.

Mimms drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Felton dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Felton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wes Mimms is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Felton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mimms's head.

Felton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Felton stays in close to Mimms's body and controls the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mimms shoots in for a takedown but Felton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mimms takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Felton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mimms's hands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mimms throws a strike but Felton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Mimms seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mimms is looking to clinch but Felton is avoiding it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mimms.

so Mimms counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wes Mimms overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wes Mimms showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mimms, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
