Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiger Woodz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, King James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tiger Woodz!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James drives through with a takedown into guard.

Woodz controls James momentarily but James frees himself.

Woodz has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.

Woodz is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

James drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

James gets to his feet - Woodz follows without any prompting.
James dives in and grabs Woodz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Woodz pushes down on James's head and hops out.

Woodz lands a left and a right that send James crashing to the mat, dazed. Woodz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like King James has been cut.

James passes Woodz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Woodz wants to get back to full guard.

James wants to work for an arm triangle but Woodz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Woodz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.
Woodz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woodz won't allow James to pass to mount.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Woodz swivels and escapes.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Woodz is looking to get to half guard.

James is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Woodz is surviving well by controlling James's body position as best he can.

Woodz slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

James is thwarting Woodz's attempts to control the position.

James throws a big right hand that misses.
Woodz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Woodz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woodz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Woodz tries a head kick but it misses.

James throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Woodz was covering up waiting for the punch and James finishes the takedown easily into guard.
James works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Woodz is looking to control James's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Woodz avoid being mounted?

James is looking for a kimura here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Woodz tries to get to full guard but James has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King James dominated that round.
The cut man is working on King James's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Woodz looks to throw the jab but James is out of range.
Woodz slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.

James drops back looking for a leg! Woodz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Woodz manages to kick James off! James jumps back into Woodz's guard.
James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

King James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Woodz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
James sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Woodz's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woodz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Woodz slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

James postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Woodz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of James, into his guard.

James looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

James looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Woodz has picked James up and slammed him! James can't keep hold of the triangle and Woodz manages to pass to side control!

James is trying to control Woodz's posture but Woodz avoids it.
James is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Woodz wants to stand but James has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
James regains full guard. Nicely done.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Woodz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

James pushes a forearm under Woodz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Woodz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
